Kathy Ferrell is a science teacher at Kinard Core Knowledge Middle School in the Poudre School District of Fort Collins Colorado. She has been a Mustang for 10 years, but has been an educator for 14 years. Before coming to Kinard, Kathy's professional experience started right in Poudre School District at Blevins Middle School  where she taught math to resource students. Before entering the teaching profession, She attended Michigan State University with an emphasis on environmental education, has been certified in Massage Therapy from the Healing Arts Institute, and received a Bachelor's Degree in Natural Science/Biology at Colorado State University.  

 

Outside of school, Kathy enjoys spending time with her family and finding the next adventure life has to offer.  Kathy is originally from Michigan, but has come to call Colorado her home.  

 

When Kathy is not teaching or coaching sports at Kinard, she enjoys spending time outside in beautiful Colorado.  She likes hiking, camping and traveling.  She also enjoys backyard games, crafting her photography skills, playing disc golf, reading and spending time with friends.

 

Kathy is proud to be a Kinard Mustang and enjoys sparking creativity and passion in students. She hopes that her love of science and appreciation for the natural world inspires kids to reach their full potential.
